ENVIROMENT
The solutions for the reduction of environmental impact are not proposed by RO.MA. as a "cost" to the end customer, but as an opportunity to reduce operating costs.
Guided by the need to reduce to the minimum the emissions of harmful gases, volatile organic substances and fine particles resulting from the production of Rock Wool, RO.MA., in collaboration with specialized companies, has engaged in serious and ongoing commitments to study and propose solutions that allow plants to comply with the strictest environmental regulations currently in force.
For the purification of fumes emitted from the cupola, a revolutionary System with the latest technology was envisioned, designed and manufactured. In addition to the desulpheration of the emitted fumes, performed in several stages to achieve very low levels of SOx, and in addition to the filtering of fumes to eliminate particle dust, the plant uses a cutting edge system to recover the latent heat from the CO present in the gases and to reuse it to heat the Combustion Air of the cupola.
This allows for a reduction of the coke to be used in the melting process, with a consequent lowering of production costs and a increase in productivity of the plant, which is equal to other parameters. The Off-gas cleaning and Blast Air generation system is very flexible and does not require any particular maintenance. The gases coming out from the Curing Oven are treated and purified of volatile organic substances by a newly conceived unit. The purified gases are used to preheat parts of the Curing Oven thus making a further contribution to the lowering of productions costs.
Even these solutions are part of the RO.MA.’s strategy plan, continually geared towards the manufacturing of plants with low production costs. |
